Definitely the biggest barrier to showing up to these free workouts. We know it sounds crazy and weird to say, but you will come to genuinely love waking up early and getting a start on your day.
You'll also enjoy the time you get to break free from the noise of life.
F3 is a peer-lead, non-professional fitness boot camp-style workout. Described as "pearls on a string" which means we'll perform a workout (pushups, jumping jacks, etc) and then run to another location to do another type of workout. These workouts are all led by peers and other members of the group.
This literally means in a parking lot at a local park or school. We currently have a location at the fairgrounds, Marthasville at the Katy Trail head, and at the riverfront. These places look much different before the sun rises.
A core principle of F3 is that the workouts are always held outdoors. It's dark, quiet, and blissful. We coined the term "The Gloom" to represent our oasis.
If you're imagining a drill Sergeant yelling at you to "get down and give me 20", you're lucky that you have it all wrong. In F3 leadership it's all about leading from the front. Paving the way for the men behind you and all the other men are there to support you.
Our motto is to "Leave no man behind, but leave him better than you found him."
No yelling. Just fist bumps, encouragement, and typical male banter.
F3 is in fact a free men's workout. There's no subscription. No up-sell or cult to join. No point or rewards. It's free.
It is just a group of men coming together around the Washington area to accelerate their fitness, fellowship, and faith with like-minded men from the Washington area.
The three Fs stand for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith.
There are some instances where the faith aspect can be a turn-off to some men. Now let's take a look at what we mean by faith in F3 lingo. F3 is not a Christian organization. A lot of the men in the group are, but F3 itself is not affiliated with any particular religion.
Every workout ends with what we call a Circle of Trust. This is simply a positive thought, reflecting on something that the leader has learned, or others end strictly in prayer. Whatever you call it. It's meant to be food for the soul.
All we strive for is for you to believe in something bigger than yourself. Even if that is simply just believing in the men next to you.
F3 is open to all men. The ages range from 22-65. We don't care what age you are, what fitness level you are. All are welcome. The nature of the workouts is you vs. you. So no matter where your stance is at in your physical health this workout will have you push yourself, without hurting yourself.
So, you can't do a push-up? You can't run over 100 yards? You're overweight? You're embarrassed by your physical condition?
Awesome. See you tomorrow. There will be other men there. No one will judge you on your ability. You'll be accepted as you are.
They will be by your side offering you support and encouragement and will probably offer you coffee afterward. You can do this.
